Ok, so you may remember this and this.
Here they are with a little colour.
The Troop Command Squad.
The Commissar. Tough gig. Ex stormtrooper, commissioned as a commissar then pulls a Death Korps regiment instead of a Cadian or Valhallan one. And then when he gets there, he's put on a horse. Happy days.
Section 1, Ridemaster plus nine.
Section 2, Ridemaster plus nine.
Section 3, Ridemaster plus nine.
So, as far as the DKK go, only the Hydrae and Salamanders to go.

Evidence ?!?! What evidence do you think there is ?
The Black Templar’s bolt pistol fired. But the round glanced off Inquisitor Huron’s
pultron – it must have hit at a shallow angle not to have detonated. The Inquisitor could do no more than bring up
his flamer to ward off the incoming chainsword.
The chainsword slid down the flamer’s pipes and bit into the promethium
reservoir rather than the inquisitor’s hand; promethium sprayed back all over
the Templar. Inquisitor Huron twisted at
the waist and made an undercut jab with his other arm, triggering the
lightening claw. He did not hit the
Templar, but the charge arced across.
The Black Templar burst into flame and jumped back, allowing
the Inquisitor to also step backwards.
The Inquisitor’s Askarii and the remaining Kreigsmen took their chance
and the last Black Templar went down in hail of stubber and las fire.
Inquisitor Huron |
Silence descended. Inquisitor Huron jettisoned the damaged
tank and looked around; A Black Templar force had quite clearly attacked the
Krieg position from the direction of the enemy. Broken Rhinos and Land Raiders sat smoking at
jaunty angles across the blasted landscape in front of them. Black Templers, led by the Sword Brethren
from the Land Raider lay dead, scattered like confetti. Directly around where he was standing, the
last of the Black Templar’s desperate charge had reached the Krieg lines. He had arrived, responding to a call for
assistance to find a fight in the balance.
If the Kreig position had not been covered by so many crew
served weapons, it would not have been the same outcome. Inquisitor Huron had been listening to the
vox net. The calm measured delivery of
the Death Korps vox-ops had been all he heard.
The Black Templars had not been using any of 72AGs codes or frequencies
and his logics had picked up nothing on any of the usual Space Marine
channels. He could only surmise that the
Krieg mortar barrage had smashed all of the vox apparatus off of the Black
Templar vehicles. He knew that the
Lostwithial’s Thunderhawks were constantly criss-crossing the planet and its
own augaurs were the equal of anything else in orbit. If he was to do anything it would have to be
soon. . .
“Report !” He roared
his demand across the field of battle.
A Krieg SNCO appeared in front of him and saluted. “Watchmaster Nachtflake, Number six heavy
mortar Battery, 262 Line Regiment, Lord.”
“Begin.” The Inquisitor ordered.
“The armoured formation entered our free fire zone from the
south, at a distance of 6.7 Kloms at 04:55 hours local. Kaptain Engel ordered the engagement at
04:59, the formation was bracketed and subjected to a twelve round barrage…”
“What with ?” Interjected the Inquisitor.
“Heavy Mortars, Lord.”
“Continue.”
“The formation turned directly towards us and spread to a
tactically better disposition , but never once halted or attempted to
communicate with us. We took two missile
strikes, one hit number five mortar and one impacted in dead ground
nearby. At 05:15 we reacquired the
target at 5.8 kloms and engaged again.
And again at 05:34 at 5.2 kloms.
There were another three barrages of twelve rounds until the came inside
3 kloms at 06:18. We could now see that
there were infantry riding on their remaining vehicles and Kaptain Engel
ordered the Quad Gun battery to our left to fire. The Infantry’s las and auto cannons were now
also in range and opened fire. Their
Land Raider’s las cannons fired into our positions, causing casualties amongst
the crew served weapons positions.
Kaptain Engel put out the call for assistance at 06:22. Their last Land Raider was stopped at 305
meters by your Land Raider at 06:28.
Kaptain Engel and Lieutenant Muller, the infantry commander, were slain
by the Black Templars. The Templars are
being checked now and casualty figures will be compiled.”
One of the Askarii came back with a data slate removed from
the wrecked Land Raider. He handed it to
the Inquisitor who studied it for what seemed like a long time. He scrolled down until he found something he
was obviously looking for. His lip
curled slightly. “Hallas Blingnor, I
might have known that you would be holding their leash.” He looked up.
To his attendant Askarii he said “Contact our agents in orbit. All augur records of this location for the
last six hours are to be seized, sealed and delivered to the Corinthian
Summer. Anyone demanding to see them is
to be arrested.”
He turned to
Watchmaster Nachtflake. "Pull your
forces back out of this place, on my orders.
The enemy is too strong for you to contain here. When you are far enough away, the Korps is to
blast this place with its artillery reserve and all available air assets. Do you understand ?”
“Yes Lord. Is there a
code I should use ?”
“No, you have been ordered by Inquisitor Huron, that is
enough.”
The Kreigsman turned to carry out the Inquisitors orders. Huron called him back “Watchmaster, what
happened here ?” There was a long pause
before the answer came. “There was
significant contact seven or eight kloms to our front and then an hour later we
were attacked by who ever had wiped out the space marines. So we called in the big guns.” Huron nodded, Watchmaster Nachtfalke saluted
again and turned back to his duties.

Excommunicate Traitoris: A Four-Way in the Garden
Excommunicate Traitoris: A Four-Way in the Garden
This is the Tau Gundam thingy. If you play Tau and want your opponents not to shoot at the rest of your army, get one of these. It attracted a lot of shooting which other wise would have been targeted at the rest of the Tau. Or worse yet, at me.
The cream of the Chaos army. Unfortunately the eldar had surviving 'prisms and an orbital bombardment strategic asset. So this was quickly just a DP and Predator. Harumph. Whose job was it to take out those Fire Prisms ?!?! Oh yeah. Mine.
Three Dakka Preds trying to shoot the EJBs off of the objective, whilst the 'zerkers TAB across the battlefield to contest said Objective. If only they'd had three more turns...
What I did send was a typhoon speeder. Which scattered back onto itself and blew itself up. Classy.
The other three 'speeders deep struck in front of the eldar lines. Misfortunately, I choose to flame the rangers instead of melta-ing the Prisms. Bad news for the rangers, but ultimately bad news for the forces of chaos too. Oh well, easy come, blood for the blood god etc.
I had a great time and even found a reason for the Tau to join forces with the forces of Chaos. Lessons for next time include more Khorny terminator goodness, target the fire prisms first, and drop pod the zerker horde where it needs to be, rather than making it walk from behind Tau lines.

Int&Sy Sitrep. Magenta (IG Corps Commander's eyes only)
77 hours ago, two companies of the 8th Battalion
of the Vostroyan 158th Firstborn Regiment, led by three Sisters of
the Order of the Sacred Rose and three sisters from the Order of Our Martyred
Lady, finished screening the coastal town of Bubroxville on the NE coast of
Acer, following a security incident.
Thirty two people, mostly gang members, were found to be
contaminated by the ruinous powers and excommunicated (by immolation). The soldiers and sisters left the town.
15 hours ago, the Black Templars returned en masse and using
their preferred means of prosecution, violent purge with chainsword and bolter,
visited the Emperor’s Justice on a further three hundred and twenty six
persons.
They held a fully documented court, with Inquisitor Hallas
presiding. Their report, which made
reference to the previous screening by the Adeptus Sororitas, made it clear
that it was job half done and that if the Templars hadn’t stepped into the
breach, then the whole continent of Acer would swiftly have been overrun by the
agents of the ruinous powers by now.
Inquisitor Hallas Blingnor |
The report was delivered to the office of the Lady Inquisitrix. This obvious attack on the way 72AG runs the
planet and conducts the war needed some form of response. The plennipotentiates are only answerable to
General Zhukov, if the Black Templars are allowed to dictate the details of
operations, they would soon be dictating policy and running the war for both
the Imperial Guard and the Ordo Hereticus.
The Lady Inquisitrix called upon 4* General Zhukov herself,
only to find him indisposed; she was received by the Chief of the Imperial
General Staff (CIGS), General Mentunfor.
He immediately opened a vox channel to General Tolstoy, as 17 Korps was
once again spearheading the drive eastwards.
Certain formations within 17 Korps were halted. General Tolstoy conferred with his Divisional
Commanders, sacrifices would have to be made.
And not in the cause of defeating the enemy, but rather in the cause of
preserving the autonomy of 72AG.
Within 8 hours, 72AG had petitioned Castellian Brodeep for
assistance as overstretch in 17 Korps Tactical Area of Responsibility had made a
PLA Counter Attack a much riskier proposition than 17 Korps could cope with. Fully briefed, the Brothers of the
Lostwithial would be deploying within twelve hours, much quicker than any of
the 18 Corps assets could be redeployed to cover the potential breach.
In their eagerness for glory, the Brothers of the
Lostwithial recovered their few assets from Acer and are now preparing to launch a mass
assault just ahead of 17 Korps Front Line of Own Troops.

Nearly used all of my BT btiz
The creation of the Black Templars detachment left me with a pile of BT specific bitz; vehicle, termie and spaze muhreen. So a small outlay (which is allowed under the self imposed restraint rules as it counts towards finishing stuff - by using bitz), the only purchases being the two razorhairyfatbacks.
Which here are two rhinos driving past some old weapons installations left lying about.
Sorry about the photos being in not ideal lighting conditions and being grey models on a grey background. This hobby is fraught with hazards. For instance, imagine if you will that whilst I'm drafting this I occasionally go the mouse in the middle of the desk to adjust or modify this post. Of course the mouse is attached to my work laptop. If someone were watching, they'd be laughing.
Now, swapping the rhino sunroof for the razorhairyfatback thing is an old dodge. But it is a cheap and easy win, so I'm joining in. One of the sunroof hatches has BT sword decoration bitz and the other, just to be different (there are two relatively plain looking rhinos already) has some luggage.
Hopefully you can see that the hulls are festooned with BT iconography - it could be in their modus operandi "Festoon the rhino, brother bullet magnet, I need to pop out for some milk..."
More termies. Another three lightening clause types, possibly for the LR Crusader. Maybe to deep strike in your face (but would scatter and end up in out of town retail park somewhere).
Still lots of BT stuff going on here. I figure that the assault cannons on loyalist termies and the reaper cannons on Kaos Termies are for when the deep strike puts them out of charge range. It may not be a game changer, but it stops the termies feeling like they're being left out.
Sixteen sword brethren. Another bucket load of BT bitz and some veteran looking gizmos. The newer SM kit and older one together provide enough variety. And these boys would be fairly easy to convert; I can see why people have SM armies.
Now all they need is paint.

Corbainian 2nd Regiment
OK, so I started with my IG bitzbox. And then I rescued some 'previously enjoyed' guardsmen from e-bay. All of the grunts here are CESFAW with either a pig iron or defiance games or surplus DKK backpack along with any belt kit I had available, Cadian or Catachen. Most of them also have a DKK entrenching tool (the 19 Regt boys do not carry one as they hide behind their burning chimerae, rather than digging their own hole).
Company Command Squad with a metal standard bearer (on the left) and Commissar. When I'd finished with ebay and run out of bits, I sent them off to Raven's Nest Painting Studios, who kindly provided the colour.
Platoon Command Squad with classic metal Cadian officer and the old GW Commissar Gaunt. Each Platoon is four squads. One Platoon is three plasma and a missile launcher and the other is three flamers and a grenade launcher. All three command squads currently have only one GL. But it's what ever comes out of the box, really.
The other Platoon Command Squad. The crew served weapons, as you can see from the top picture, are organised into an anti tank squad and a fire support squad.
Eight metal Kasarkin, the Sgt has a Pig Iron officer's head. I'm hoping that the homogeneity of the colour scheme means that any potential opponent might overlook the fact that these guys are Kasarkin until it is too late. (Just leave me my illusions, will you ?).
Special Weapon Squad with out any special weapons. Hey, it gets another six wounds on the table. These guys are supposed to be a FOO party. This actually shows the poultron markings pretty well; just halved tactical colours with a FW brass aqilla.
The Kasarkin again, possibly a little better picture.
An infantry squad; this one has a missile launcher and you can see that some of the squad are carrying spare rockets for the launcher.
What these lil'men represent is the Corbainian 2nd IG Regiment or one of the other newer formations raised for 72AG; Comptroller Bellormus has ensured that the supply chain now feeding the Devos IV campaign does so in a more homogeneous fashion, ensuring that units re-equipped in theatre will wear similar uniforms.
