Progress so far.

So, the DKK are started.

I have also done some stuff: ten new Valhallans, that just now need basing.  There's eight servitors who have been half done for years who are now good for the tabletop.  And there's the little prize for Admiral Drax who did fourteen posts over the Christmas holidays.  Just decals, basing and so on for that one.

The Valhallan contingent are in the house (Oooooooh !).  Of all of my figures they are the ones who need the most TLC.  So they will get a touch up and so on.  I also took the opportunity earlier to go around their bases with a black marker pen; I've done this before for others and it looks fine from two feet away.

My purchasing strategy for the year will be to see what comes out in the proposed new iggy codex.

  1. They look rather nice - might have to steal the idea for the little yellow-to-red switch on that meltagun. Black marker pen, eh? Not a bad idea...

  2. Very nice start to the new year. As we spoke, I have the GD12 DKK show model for you sitting around the house. If this is your color scheme, I will work towards matching it then :)

  4. @ Col S - yarp.

@ Mr Lee - hold on a bit and I'll send you one down for a better colour match.

@ Col A - Cheers ! Just noticed Mark Mandragon is doing more stuff this year. There go all my good intentions.

@ Dr Nebula - Just so; they seem to have inspired some more good citizens of the USSR on JTS (?)

  5. Very nice work. I too especially like that red/yellow gauge.

How many of these did you get done?

Dreamforge's 2nd faction should be those aliens...... the Shadokesh? I got two of the Feral Kesh handlers KS sculpts in the last Kickstarter and they look really cool. Haven't told the wife yet though.....

By someone else. And not yet, he's only the colour proof.

  6. Superb (in all cases)!

I love that model - and the switch too. as for using marker pens, I've used them before to coour the insides of tanks to save wasting paint, and I routinely use a black '0.05' (yeah, right!) fineliner to craft fine details like the writing on scrolls, maps etc.

But whatever happened to "Mrs Zzzzzz does not like "little men" in the house" eh?

    1. I think she's realised that it's ever so slightly better than both of us surfing the internet at the same time in the same room and not actually speaking.

      Hurrah for marker pens !

    1. I doubt even 170 would be enough to swamp your great company
