Agents of the Inquisition 8

Augurs.  Data terminals.  Uplinks.

Vox casters, eavesdropping devices.

Slaved to small pocket inertial locators, refractor field generators have their uses.

And of course, these wonders of engineering, the bastard children of taxidermists and the mechanicum are almost deriguer in some circles.

Agents of the Inquisition 7

This is Inquisitor Raedsel and his associated.  The man at the front with the dagger and las pistol is his intrusion expert.  His unusual backpack contains a refractor field and grav chute.  It's almost certainly a Jokero item.

The Inquisitor himself is fond of a direct approach.  After his more clandestine associate has reported back that their quarry is where they want, the Inquisitor will get his associate Mr Emdd to affect an entry with his assault cannon and trust to his own towering presence (and TL plasma pistols) to make the arrest.

Mr Kal will invariably be flanking or covering the operation from a distance.  The others don't mind as he has halitosis and questionable standards of personal hygene.  However, he is good at what he does and is therefore tolerated.

Inquisitor Raedsel is a dedicated Witch Hunter.  He and his team are well equipped for their task.  His methods are usually to pick up cold trails which have confounded other witch hunters and rattle the place up and see what falls out.  They are good detectives, using logic and forensics to follow up their leads.

He is quite often sent by the Conclave to investigate cases where Inquisitorial teams or agents have disappeared.   He is the most likely of the Inquisitors on Devos IV to call on the services of the SWAT team.

He does have a sense of humour, Mr Emdd is a talented chef with regard to his ethnically native cusine. The nameless burgler-cum-murderer has an encyclopedic knowledge of popular music from Bella Coronis within a narrow band of between nine and seven years ago.  And Mr Kal accepts with good grace that no-one wants to be anywhere near him.   Having said that. they're not the most social bunch ever.

Agents of the Inquisition 6

This is Inquisitor Khakassia.  Yes,  it's probably a nom-de-guerre.  He is a member of the Ordo Hereticus and a minor psyker himself. He's originally from Sovatskaya Gavan, formerly a Maiden World settled by Valhallans as their trophy world six generations ago.  Although he grew up in a Schola, unlike a lot of Scholum, he spent time boating, cycling through the forests, rafting down canyons and so on.

Alizbrum Ausun is Delta (possibly Eplison) level psyker.  And one of Inquisitor Khakassia's Interrogators.  Obviously being able to peel open someone's conscious or subconscious mind is a huge time saver.  Inquisitor Khakassia likes this.

Naylor is soft and delicate, one of those individuals who seems like a pillar of calm no matter where he is or what is going on.  He is environmentally conscious and extremely charitable.  He's also an augmented super assassin.

Lightening death with his hands and feet, expert with most of the things man has made to kill other men with.  Keeping Naylor at the level required takes a modicum of resources in terms of places to practice and tools to practice with, not to mention the occasional stim implant.  But Khakassia thinks he's worth it.

The cherub is a broad spectrum auspex and multi channel pict capture and vox caster.

Which brings us to the penitent.  She is there, possibly unwillingly, given the shackles, to act as a psykik earthing rod in the event of a warp related attack.  Got to protect the high value assets.

Agents of the Inquisition 4

There are worlds within the Imperium where technology and medicine far exceed the wildest dreams of most of the proletariat.  The Spireborn live un-naturally long lives.  Spyrers stalk the underhive for thrills and laughs.  But enhancements for others are not unknown.  Gene enhancements and bionics for those who directly serve those who rule are not exactly rare.

These individuals are all Inquisitorial agents, or those who were aiding some Throne Agent when they met with an unfortunate event or two in the line of duty.  Whilst the lives of people are not exactly even on the inquisition's 'nice to have' list, they are not want to squander more important attributes such as experience and loyalty.

These have all been combat enhanced; vat grown muscle with artificial fibre bundles, pain suppressants, neural enhancers, graphic display spot sighting, dataloggers, low light sensors and so on. They are individually formidable, as a package, they are probably more than the sum of their parts.

They are optimised for medium and close range with a heavy hitter melee specialist.  The two female agents carry pistols and are skilled martial artists.

One of the individuals has been modified as a full range auspex and uplink, further equipped with a chain blade and carrying an axe for self defence.

Agents of the Inquisition 3

Inquisitor Huron of the Ordo Malleus.  He is a versatile player of the games that go on within the Conclave of Kelestor and it's subordinate Ordos missions.  When he learned of the Conclave of Dinterra Minor sending fully a third of it's Inquisitors on one task, he volunteered to be the Ordo Malleus representative.

He has been disappointed with 72AG's High Command, but has a more favourable view of Commanders at Corps level, improving at Divisional level and generally positive view of the men on the ground.

His own psychic powers centre around the detection of warp anomalies, from the eddies in the warp currents to actual warp spawn.  In truth, it's a sensitivity rather than an ability to detect.  however when in person to entity contact, this insight has sometimes given him some form of instinct as to motives, intentions and strengths and/or weaknesses.

He is not, on this occasion, been accompanied by a detachment of Grey Knights.  Instead, he is accompanied by a body of beetle armoured Askari from his homeworld.

Agents of the Inquisition 2

Whatcha gonna do ?
Whatcha gonna do ?
Whatcha gonna do when they come for you ?

Bob Marley, Bad Boys

Officially an Adeptus Arbities SWAT team, these are Inquisitorial Storm Troopers re-badged to be less threatening, less official looking and/or less high profile than full on Kasarkin.  They are Kasarkin, just dressed down for low key, more clandestine employment.

Those are Elysian pattern MK9 pressure helmets.  These guys carry a lot of concussion grenades.

Their weapon sights include the bio-signature recognition fail safe to stop them from shooting someone the Inquisitor does not want them to shoot.  Their weapons are all small calibre, high velocity CPR guns with high cyclical rates of fire.  Their intention is not to stop, but rather to shred.

These men are masters of both quiet intrusion and brutal forced entry, they can establish an effective cordon or funnel suspects into designated areas using both covert and overt means.  Their extensive kit allows them to gain entry, access and modify things like elevators and buses.  They can defuse bombs.

People do not get away once they have been designated a suspect.

Agents of the Inquisition 1

Some people might have wondered what Solomon Lok did before he was eaten by 'Nids.  He was a member of the Conclave of Dinterra Minor.  His membership is signified by the black hood he wears.  Although formally an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos, rather than the Ordo Hereticus, the Conclave deputised him to the Devos IV war effort as there had been reports of perfidious Eldar in system.

Inquisitor Lok's faithful Ad Mech servitor.  Most of this would actually survive digestion on Beta Anphellion, but would never be recovered once Red Scorpions delivered their report to the sub sector governors.

Lok's savant, Jorge.  Jorge knows a lot about systems, the Noosphere, the Ad Mech, technology in general and xenotech in particular.  In combination with the servitor, they represent a formidable intelligence gathering asset for Inquisitor Lok.

For those less familiar with Inquistitor Lok; he is a Puritan.  Which makes him useful in the field, hunting down those things which his Ordos Xenos masters want hunting down.

But that Puritianic dogma which means he can be relied upon to rid the galaxy of influences his masters want rid of also means he sometimes destroys things which they would like to examine for themselves.

Which is why his own master will eventually feed him to the 'Nids, along with some high value Imperial Guard and Inquisitorial assets, not to mention the ire of the Red Scorpions.  But all that is far in the future.  For now, he is hunting Eldar...
