Helghan reinforcements

You may be aware that there has been a Kickstarter by 'That Evil One" to produce STL's for the 'Heckghosts".  having put such a lot of work into my existing Helghans, and still loving the aestetic. I duly stumped up the readies for these boys.
Actual Colonel Meal Radec model.  The rest of his squad wear the slightly odd shaped helmets indicating that they are higher value, more elite types.  In the game, Radec is armed with an SMG, so you can see the little divergences to ensure that no IP is enfringed.
So these guys with the odd helmets are on the Brick of Scrutiny, and the other guys are arrayed below
The illustrations for the KS looked pretty detailed.
Some of the details on the prints look pretty sharp; but in the grey resin, there's a chance that some of the features which look a little fuzzy are as advertised, they just don't show until I get some paint on them.
They are pretty kool and obviously in the idiom I'm looking for.
There could be a few more shooter poses, I may have to get a few more printed, but will see how these turn out before getting any more.
A few of the prints are one peice items, but most of them have separate legs.
Which does give rise to the 'bifurcated by a vaudeville magician' look.  But this is an easy fix with a bit of belt kit.
This guy appears to be armed with STA11 submachine gun with underslung GL.
And belt kit to hide the gap.
This guy has a STA52 Assault Rifle
Those without a long arm were given a slung Accatran pattern las-rifle.
But you're asking if they match the existing Helghans ?  Pretty well.
They're not over sized
They are similarly dressed and equipped.
And similarly soldierly poses.

And the bullpup assault rifles match up pretty well.

Better picts of the Helgans.

I did mention that I would try to get better picts of the Helgans, so here they are on a nice day, formed up in front of the Brick of Scrutiny.

Command Squad with fearsome unit insignia.
A couple of picts showing what they are carrying in fighting order.

Carrying Enough Stuff for a War (CESFAW)
The Command Team - Task and Purpose, as they say.
ISTs
More ISTs
Three squads of eight.
Like this.
Rifle Squad 1
Rifle Squad 2
Rifle Squad 3
Rifle Squad 4
Rifle Squad 5.  There are SSW (Hvy Stubbers and Grenade Launchers) in each squad.
The Command Squad at the front.

The whole platoon.  Five rifle squads and three IST teams.  A useful addition to the line up.

Helghans finished

Just in case you didn't know about them, the Helghans are the victims in the FPS KillZone games, where their entire ethnicity is forced into extreme collectivism by the cruel and inhuman treatment meted out by the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance.

Anyway, this is my take on them for the tabletop.

There's a mix of FW Elysian arms with Accatran pattern las rifles on mostly Anvil with a few Victoria Lamb bits.

And bulky troopers, who without head swaps this time, fit the Helghan aesthetic well, IMHO.

So the light wasn't brilliant when I took these photos, it was about 15 o'clock on a very grey and cloudy early January day and already looking like the daylight had just glanced around, thought "feck this" and begun to pack up for the day.

So there are five squads of ten.  Although each squad has an LMG and a Heavy Stubber as well as a GL.  And four squads of seven Bulkytroopers with two special weapons in each team.

Helghan WIPs

So they have been mostly coloured in and I thought you might be interested, especially if you've ever played KillZone.
There is a plan to improve the lenses.  A pin head of white in the orange lens and then a final wash of yellow ink should make them look like the ones in the artwork.
Guys with Elysian rifles are possibly the most Helghan.
And these guys are CESFAW as well.
I'm looking forward to getting these finished.  A slightly lighter finish to the rubble for all of them and some tidying up on any bits I've missed and that's another detachment ready for the frontlines of Devos IV.
And these are EoT era bulkytroopers with the same paint job.  I think they look Helghan enough.

Helgan reinforcements to Devos IV (three)

I had a bit of time so took a break from work and spent half an hour in the garden; they were basecoated with Wilco black satin hobby paint (surprisingly good and 1/3rd the price of GW spray cans).

Then Army Painter armour grey

Then Tamiya Panzer grey

Then Tamiya gunship grey

Lastly Tamiya ocean grey

So they fit the theme fairly well now.

They need the obligatory glowing orange eyes

And (hopefully subtle) washes of various colours for tone, contrast and visual interest.

Finally some actual detailing for particular items like smoke grenades and flamer nozzles.
