Chaos Army - The jam in the coalition sandwich.

So I need more options for troops.

Left flank.  5 DV Chosen  plus the champ with the whackin' stick.

Centre  Cultists and Dark Apostle (Richard Madely)

Right Flank  Five more chosen.  and another champ with a whackin' stick.

1st Element  Word Bearers
HQ                                          Dark Apostle
Troops                                  10 Cultists, Hvy Stubber, Champion w/shotgun
Troops                                  10 Cultists, Hvy Stubber, Champion w/shotgun
Troops                                  10 Cultists, flamer, Champion w/funky claw
Troops                                  10 Cultists, flamer, Champion w/funky claw
Elite                                       5 Chosen, Veterans of the Long War
Elite                                       1 Chosen Champion, Veteran of the Long War
Elite                                       5 Chosen, Veterans of the Long War

Elite                                       1 Chosen Champion, Veteran of the Long War

Which is all nice, but what about a bit of colour ?  Themicly, of course, a chaos army is already a little bit colourful almost by definition.

5th Element  The beasts
Troops                                  5 Broo (counts as SM Scouts) bolters, heavy bolter.
Fast Attack                          20 Chaos hounds.

Now there are ten Broo in the photo, but only four have bolters and one has a HB. So only five playable as SM Scouts. And the twenty chaos hounds who are only legal if you suppose that as there has not been a new Eye of Terror codex, their entry in the existing one stands.

4th Element  The Cleaved
HQ                                          Warpsmith Coven (six warpsmiths)
Troops                                  6x Ranged combat servitors (counts as plague zombies)
Troops                                  9x Close combat servitors (counts as plague zombies)
Heavy Support                  1 Bile cannon (counts as obliterator)

Heavy Support                  1 Close combat servitor (counts as Mutilator)

Well, that's me options.  it feels a bit light on vehicles, but there is a plan in place for that, it just ain't gonna be in place until years after the upcoming fight.

  1. Safe to assume the warpsmiths are the advance element?

    They look pretty gnarly tbh..

The only cuation i might add is that is a reasonably large board. its a cruciform 8x8 (so its an 8x4 in both axis)

    1. Yeah, I know, 2000 points, tops. I might just bring Belligera Rex to sit on the side lines and look at the table....

    2. I didnt mean from a point POV I meant from your already identified lack of vehicle POV.. footslogging all those guys potentially eight feet... I mean sure, it might not work out like that, but.. it might..

  4. The new "unbound" rules might actually serve you well here. Play with the models you've got, everything on both sides scores, but an army following the force organisation chart has its troops 'win a tie' to claim any objective.
