Heavy Weapon Progress

So, lots of us have the GW IG Heavy Weapons teams.  Which, once you've built your one heavy weapon team, leaves you with five spare weapons.  If you don't mount your missile teams on the stabilising stand, that leaves you with the bits to assemble a mortar baseplate.  So with another 60mm base, that's another heavy weapon.
The dent bits to put the little men are 25mm electrical conduit.  Very easy to cut down with a scalpel or knife (doesn't need to be too sharp, either, this stuff cuts like something deliberately designed and manufactured to be easy to cut - funny that), but not super easy to keep an exact line - but I fill up to the rim (from the outside) with filler anyway, so it doesn't need to be too fine a tolerance.
And slap on sandbags, bombs and so on; that's mortars in ubiquitan army green for any army short of supporting firepower.
So, using some handy Valhallans, this should give you an idea of what you get.  Las-cannons up next !

  1. Cunning, with crew plentiful the -served weapons means as long as you have bases, you have more weapons...

    Shiny.

just remember the new deployment rules for heavy weapons teams, they all have to be bunched up within a 10" radius :)

  2. Nice Idea. Great way to add those mortars to a squad that you only occasionally use heavy weapons with. Think I'll have to try this!

  3. The Guard can't have too many crew served weapons.

  4. niiiice, really liking the "non-loader" option on the bases. Looks like they have their infantryman's artillery available but right now are more concerned with shooting hell out of something!

...but Karitas, what's this about a 10" radius please??

  6. Great idea, anything that stretches the use for the little men is top notch.

  8. Thanks everyone !

Admiral - I suspect that the Space Puppies have something killy with a 10" template.

  9. I love motors, and seeing those all lined up is great. As said earlier, the Guard can never have enough Hvy Wep teams, nor enough template weapons!!

  10. Those are really nice. Might steal this idea for my Squat heavy weapons.
